but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase quality seeds such as chickpea and soybeans, fertilizers and pay for hired labor to help during busy times.

Nyaung Pin 1 (C) Village Group's story

This Village Group is located in Pakokku towhship, in Myanmar's Dry Zone, and consists of six female members; Maw, Aye, Sandar, Paw, Thet and Htay. Crop farming and livestock are the main focuses for income generation in the village. Most villagers either farm their land or are hired labor for those with farmland.

Second from the left in the picture is Sandar, the featured borrower of the group. Sandar is a twenty-two-year-old female farmer who loves farming a lot. She farms on her four-acre farm where she plants chickpea and soybeans. Sandar’s family also make incense sticks to sell for additional income. Sandar wants her younger sister to finish high school and graduate from university. This Kiva loan will help her purchase quality seeds, fertilizers, and also pay for hired labor who help perform work duties on the farm, including cultivation, monitoring, and harvesting, during busy times when Sandar needs help.
