Nua Ngam 40 Group's story

The woman standing first from the right is Bun. She is a 36-year-old Lao ethnic woman, who lives with her husband and her two daughters in a poor and remote village. One daughter now studies in grade 10. Like the other villagers, her income is mostly from agricultural production such as growing corn, cassava, rice and raising buffalos, pigs, chicken. To invest in her farming business, she took six loans through the Anh Chi Em program and repaid them successfully.

This time, she has taken out a loan from Anh Chi Em to purchase a buffalo ken for raising and selling. She will use the profit from this investment to gradually expand her farming.

Bun hopes her daughters will have good results in school in order to get good jobs in the future.
