Julian's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy bales of rice, sugar and salt, and cartons of noodles and canned tuna for her general store.

Julian's story

Julian, aged 34, is married with five children. She lives in a rural community outside of Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands.

For the past four years, Julian has owned and operated a small general store in her community. She sells basic food items, such as rice, sugar, cooking oil, noodles, biscuits, canned goods and snacks to earn a living.

With her previous loan, Julian was able to start her business, pay her children's school fees and meet her family's daily needs. With the help of ongoing training from SPBD staff on how to run and manage a business, her business is growing well and she is earning an income.

Julian is now requesting a new loan to buy more goods, such as bales of rice, sugar and salt, and cartons of noodles and canned tuna, to sell in her general store. She plans to use her profits to improve her home.

Julian joined SPBD in 2015 to gain access to financial services.
