José Elías's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped buy corn, beans, oil, condiments, bread, chicken and vegetables for selling tamales and chicken sandwiches. He will also buy another wheelbarrow and pans.

José Elías's story

José is 47 years old and studied until the second grade because his parents did not have the necessary income to keep supporting him and his siblings. His wife makes a living making tamales and they have four children.

José works together with his wife making and selling tamales. They decided to learn this skill because they needed to provide their children's necessities. José sells the tamales two days a week, as well as chicken sandwiches on Sundays.

He will use this loan to buy corn, beans, oil, condiments, bread, chicken and vegetables for selling tamales and chicken sandwiches. He will also buy another wheelbarrow and pans. The previous loan José received from Kiva was invested in the same business and he is currently paying back his debt on time.

José's dream is to always have the strength he needs to work and to give his children everything they need, so that in the future, they can be professionals and have reliable jobs.
