Shalom Group's story

Mwavita is 38 years old, married, and the mother of three children, two of whom go to school while the youngest is still a baby. She is the president of the "Shalom" community bank and a client of the Hekima micro-finance institution. She works in retail, selling food products from her home located on a busy street of her town. She has been involved in this activity for the past 15 years.

Mwavita will use her loan to strengthen her activity through the purchase of various oils, sugar, rice, and Omo soap. She received her initial capital from her husband. Her goal is to be able to feed her children and send them to school. She thanks Hekima and its partners for the support they provide to entrepreneurs who are excluded from the traditional banking system.
