Brenda is 32 years old. She went to school through the sixth grade of basic education. She married, and after six years she separated from her partner. She is the single mother of two children who attend school.

Brenda helps her mother make and sell tamales. In addition, she does agricultural work in the rainy season. She plants corn and beans for family use, and they sell the surplus to cover some household necessities.

She needs this loan to buy seeds, compost, and poisons to raise corn, and with the earnings from the harvest, her children will continue going to school, since she is a single mother. She has already been supported by four loans from Kiva in the past, of which she has already repaid three, and she lacks a little to finish [paying off] the most recent.

She dreams of continuing to farm to distribute the corn in the stores. In addition, she wants her children to better themselves and be professionals.
