Nida Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay her kids' university tuition fees, back in the Philippines.

Nida Group's story

Nida Group is a group comprised of five Filipino women. They came all the way to Lebanon and left their families, to secure a better life for them.

Nida, the woman wearing a blue scarf in the photo, is the featured borrower of Nida Group. She is a 47-year-old, single mother of five. She left her children and came to Lebanon, where she established her own Filipino cuisine catering business. The catering business is her only source of income, which enables her to continue to provide for her kids.

Nida and the rest of her group-mates are previous borrowers from Kiva’s field partner, Al Majmoua. They have proved themselves as reliable borrowers, because this is their 14th cycle of loan borrowing from the organization. Nida needs this loan to pay her kids' university tuition fees, because she wishes to provide them with a better opportunity of a decent life, back in the Philippines.

Her other group-mates are Akiniha, who is wearing a headscarf, Evelyn who is wearing an orange jacket, Teresita, the first person on the right, and Rose Marie, the person at the far left of the photo.
