Helen's story

Helen C. is from the village of Mitacas, Baliangao, Misamis Occidental. She is 38 years old. Helen is married and has 4 school-aged children. To make a living, Helen owns and operates a service-based business. While not the only means for generating revenue, the main source of income for the business comes from "Habal-Habal" business, transporting folks from town center to their residence. Helen has been engaged in her business for over 7 years and earns approximately 5,000 PHP a month for these activities.

In 2005, Helen joined PMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Helen has successfully repaid a previous loan of 2,000 PHP from PMPC. Helen is requesting a new loan of 7,000 PHP which will be used maintenance for their motorcycle and repair. This will be the 6th loan taken out by Helen from PMPC. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
