María Concepción

Gotera, Morazán Department, El Salvador / Food

María Concepción's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy supplies for making bread, and she will also buy rice, oil, beans, corn, etc,, to supply inventory to her store.

María Concepción's story

Maria had to work from a very young age, and therefore never was able to attend school. She is married with two children. One is already grown and the other is a minor child.
Twelve years ago Maria started a bakery together with her husband. They learned how to make bread together, because they had small children and they needed a lot of things. Now their children help to bag the bread, so that their workers can take it out on deliveries to stores. She also has a small store where she sells basic necessities.
Thanks to the previous Kiva loan, Maria was able to invest in the bakery and she was able to repay the debt without problems. She decided to apply for a new loan in order to buy bread making supplies, and she will also buy rice, oil, bean, corn, etc., in order to supply her store.
Maria's dream is to keep her bakery active as well as slowly improve the store, because both businesses are helping her with the education of her children.
