Mya Lay Su-1 (A) Village Group's story

This group, called Mya Lay Su-1 (A) Village Group has six members from Dedaye Township, Myanmar. Most of the villagers earn their income from crop farming and raising livestock.

Maung is the featured borrower of this group and he has 120 ducks that lay eggs to provide his household's daily income. Three years ago, when he had a bad paddy harvest due to pests and diseases, duck farming become another way for to diversify his family income. Though duck farming is usually known as a simple task, ducks must be fed nutritious food to be good egg producers.

Therefore, to increase his income in the most cost-effective way, Maung is going to purchase nutritious duck feed like corn and rice with this loan.

You can see Maung in the middle of the picture. Pictured with him are Htun, Naing, Ohn, Tin and Pay.
