Ishata's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase cigarettes, drinks, and biscuits to expand her business.

Ishata's story

Meet Ishata, a woman in her early thirties, from rural Aberdeen Western in Freetown, Sierra Leone. She is married and has five children. In 2005 Ishata established her general merchandise business. She started her general merchandise business to create another source income and improve herself. She works at the business from 8:00 am until 5:30 pm, 6 days per week. She says that the main challenge to her business is price inflation.

Ishata requires a loan in order to purchase cigarettes, drinks, and biscuits to expand her business. She hopes that the extra income from this loan will allow her to build a house and increase her business. Seemingly distinct businesses are often mixed in Sierra Leone, the idea being that a customer will come to purchase one thing but will leave having purchased additional items.

In the future, Ishata plans to expand her business more than ever. She thanks you for your support.
