hodeidah, Al Hudaydah Governorate, Yemen / Transportation

Saddam's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase a motorcycle.

Saddam's story

Saddam, 29 years old, is a married man who lives with his wife and two children in his small house in Hodeida governorate, Yemen. He is the sole breadwinner of his family as his wife is not working.

Saddam has a secondary-school certificate, and his sole income source is the bus he works on. Due to the increase in fuel price since the beginning of the current conflict 22 months ago, what he earns has decreased greatly. He is not able to meet the demands of his family.

The best solution for Saddam is to diversify his income source and not depend entirely on the bus. He thought of purchasing a motorcycle and then renting it to somebody else, but he doesn’t have money required to purchase a motorcycle; therefore, he has applied for a 200,000 YER loan from Al-Amal Microfinance Bank.

Saddam is looking forward to opening a store for selling and renting motorcycles.
