Oscar's story

Oscar is 46 years old and lives in the community of Colon, Honduras, where he has worked doing farming jobs from the time he was very young. He currently earns a living farming corn and beans as well as raising cattle. Oscar lives with his wife, Ana, and his young child, to whom he wants to be able to give the best living conditions. For that reason, one of his greatest aspirations is to be able to establish a business of selling food products from his home in order to generate more income. For this, he is requesting financing from Soluz Honduras to purchase a solar-powered freezer in order to be able to offer his customers a bigger variety of products that they haven’t had access to up until now because of the lack of electricity in their community. It will help him to maintain the products from his cattle business for a longer period of time. With the purchase of the freezer, he thinks he will be able to generate better income and give his family a better standard of living.
