A loan helped to buy more provisions to sell.

Tomah's story

Tomah is 34 years old and lives together with her partner and 3 children, aged 12 through to 18, all of who attend school and live at home. She went to school up to 1st grade and supports herself and her family by selling provisions. Tomah has sold provisions for 15 years and typically works from 8am to 6pm per day. Initially, Tomah learned to sell by herself after wanting to learn a trade that would allow her to remain in one area. Through her hard work, she has been able to support her family. Tomah describes herself as a strong businesswoman and says that everything about her business makes her proud.

Tomah has applied for a loan to buy more provisions to sell. Tomah’s long-term goal is to increase in business.

Tomah would like to tell her Kiva lenders “Thank you for helping me to do something myself!”
