A loan helped to buy more bags of rice and slippers.

Makoya's story

Makoya, 24 years old, is single with one child, one year old. She attended school until 11th grade and earns her living selling bags of rice and slippers. Makoya has run this business for 5 years. She started the business after learning to sell by herself.

Makoya enjoys running her business but sometimes has trouble attracting customers during the rainy season. Makoya says that her business allows her to do something for herself and her children.

Makoya has applied for a loan with BRAC Liberia in order to expand her business. She is planning to use the loan to buy more bags of rice and slippers in order to expand her business. Her future plan is to, one day, open her own store and thereby build some houses.

She wishes to thank her lenders very much for their efforts and generosity.
