Ubumwe Kagugu Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy more sweet potatoes, cassava and the like to sell in her community.

Ubumwe Kagugu Group's story

Seen kneeling with her hand raised and wearing a green blouse, Marie Solange is 38 years old, married and has three children. She was nominated as this group’s leader due to her experience.

Marie Solange has operated a produce business for the past twenty years. Like many of those in the group, her business is well organized and requires that she work from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. every day. Despite these long days, she is determined to operate a successful business in order to provide a better life for her children.

On behalf of her group Marie Solange has applied for a 3,300,000 RWF loan through Kiva's field partner VisionFund Rwanda to be apportioned among the group members. She will use her share to buy more sweet potatoes, cassava and the like to sell. With the profits from this loan she will be able to reinvest in her business, pay school fees for her children and save for her future.
