Khin's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for fertilizer, labor charges, and rental of a tractor.

Khin's Group's story

Khin is 56 years old. There are six members in her family. Farming is her main business and she has been doing it for over 18 years. She owns 25 acres of land which she uses as a paddy during monsoon season. Every season, she gets 1,200 baskets of crops from 25 acres (which is 48 baskets of crops per acre). She sells 800 baskets immediately after harvesting and waits to sell the remaining 400 baskets to get a higher price, which she keeps in her paddy storage place at her house. Khin uses the profit for her family’s living expenses such as food, school fees, health care fees, and repayment of loans. She explains that while she engages in her farm business, she also faces many challenges in her work such as insect problems, environmental issues, and decreasing yields.

Khin received her first loan from Sont Oo last year which she used for buying fertilizers, paying labor fees, and paying for machine rental. She said that the interest rate is lower than local lenders and the timing for repaying the loan works well for her. Now is the second time she is applying for a loan for her business. She will use the loan for buying some more fertilizers and paying labor fees, as well as renting a machine for her farm. She thanks Sont Oo for helping farmers like her.
