Benkadi Group's story

Sine is the one standing in the middle and holding the ewe. She is married to a farmer. A homemaker, she is 37 years old and the mother of seven children, aged 2 to 17, of whom a boy and two girls are in school. For six years, Sine has been growing peanuts and raising sheep. She had no chance to go to school. But she turned to the microfinance institution to obtain more funds to purchase sheep to raise. She gets her supplies from nearby markets.

Her dream is to have enough profit from raising livestock in order to purchase enough oxen for farming. The obstacles she encounters with her livestock business are: theft, diseases, and even death. Her profit is estimated to be 30,000 francs per month.
