Selina's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs such as seeds and herbicides.

Selina's story

Selina is a widow and is a rural smallholder farmer from the Molo area of Kenya. Her main income source is milk from her dairy farm and a small personal business. However, she is also involved in other agricultural activities such as growing bananas, vegetables, other fruits and grains.

The biggest problem that farmers from Molo face is a huge shortage in terms of access to agricultural inputs, meaning that farmers' yields and incomes are far below what they could be. Juhudi Kilimo partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholders around Kenya. Through these financial services, farmers from Molo, like Selina, can now buy productive assets and important inputs for use on their farms.

Selina is seeking a loan to buy quality farm inputs such as seeds, fertilizer, herbicides and pesticides, which will enable her to improve her production. This intervention will help her meet the increasing demand for food in the market and, in the process, generate more income to repay the loan debt and improve her family's quality of life. Please help this mother to accomplish all her dreams by helping her with a loan!
