Naina's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to fund the expansion of her broom business by purchasing more raw materials like leaves and packaging materials.

Naina's story

Naina, 28, is married and lives in Jhabua in Madhya Pradesh. Her husband and two young school-going children complete her family. Nainaben confronts the challenges of motherhood and entrepreneurship with great enthusiasm - her passion for both are interdependent.

Naina runs a small-scale business selling brooms. The brooms are made from traditional dried leaves and tied together for household use. A good deal of labor and raw material such as quality leaves and packaging material goes into her microenterprise.

Despite her hard work, Naina is able to save just over INR 3,000 a month after accounting for her family's expenses. Such meager savings will not help her save enough to guarantee her children a good education or her family a better standard of living.

Expanding her business is the best option for Naina to increase her family's savings and income. This has led her to seek a loan of INR 12,000 from Prayas, Milaap's field partner in Madhya Pradesh. The loan amount will be used to purchase additional raw material and help her increase her monthly savings by up to 50 percent.

Naina extends her gratitude to all the lenders who have contributed to raising her loan amount.
