Andrena M. is from the town of Lopez Jaena. She is twenty-eight years old and married with three school-age children. To make a living, Andrena owns and operates a business making and selling snacks and other delicacies to the local community. She has been engaged in her business for over two years and earns approximately $45 a month from these activities. In 2009, Andrena joined PMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation by engaging in business activities. Andrena has successfully repaid a previous loan of 7,000 PHP from PMPC. This loan was used to purchase raw ingredients needed to make the products she sells. Andrena is requesting a new loan of 10000 PHP which will be used for working capital and to purchase additional inventory. This will be her second loan from PMPC. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family. About PMPC: Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC is one of the most progressive cooperatives in northwestern Mindanao.
