Remark Glass is a partnership between Danielle Ruttenberg and myself, Rebecca Davies and my husband Mark Ellis. After meeting in 2015, Danielle and I knew that the next chapter in our businesses would better support our lives and families if we combined the clients, equipment and skills that we had each developed. As we were both starting new families, we took the opportunity to collaborate, help one another, and create a new product line alongside the contract glass projects we had lined up. We share a unique skill set in glass. Danielle and Mark studied together at Tyler School of Art. Year later, she went on to develop a custom glass fabrication business and Mark has developed his glass and metal skills working for artists. I studied printmaking at the University of the Arts and learned glass work through local employment at stained glass and glass blowing production studios. In April of 2016, we relocated both of our studios into a space at the Bok building in South Philadelphia. We now occupy about 2,000 square feet where the athletic department of the school was once housed. Danielle and I share the responsibility of operating the glass facility, client work, production pieces, and marketing. Our dream is to grow a company that fosters creativity and supports a sustainable future in the glass industry by working with recycled glass and eventually, green power.
