A loan helped to buy traditional pagne [bright West African cloth] to stock and sell.

Amakamono Group's story

Anta Hamadou is the lady holding the traditional pagnes [bright West African cloths] in the picture. She is Malian, 57, married and mother of 4 dependent children: 2 girls and 2 boys. Her husband is a farmer.

She has been an artisan (dyeing the traditional pagnes) for forty years. She is turning to RMCR to increase her turnover and buy a lot of cloth. She buys and sells at the market in her town. Through her activity dying fabric she can take care of the needs of her children and family. She often has to cope with sales at a loss and overcome challenges with retailers in her town.

In the future, she would like to get a larger loan to buy more rolls of pagne, so she can make more profit and buy her own dying machine.
