Shar Taw - 2 (C) Village Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farming inputs.

Shar Taw - 2 (C) Village Group's story

Shar Taw Village is located in Myanmar's Central Dry Zone. Farmers in this village cultivate crops, such as sesame, groundnuts, and beans. Villagers also generate income by selling palm sugar to nearby townships. Farming is the main source of income for this community. They plant green gram, mung beans, and butter beans.

Than (first from the right in the photo) is married, with two children. He farms his six-acre farm. This year, he will focus on growing sesame, groundnuts, and beans.

With the upcoming loan from Kiva, Than is going to buy the necessary farming inputs, such as seeds, fertilizer, and compost, to expand his farm, which will help him dramatically increase his crop yields and, therefore, his income from crop sales.

Than aims for his children to continue their education until graduation.
