Gpf Sokhna Assy Gae Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy seeds and fertiliser with which to grow rice, and rent more land for farming.

Gpf Sokhna Assy Gae Group's story

This group was created in February of 2016 and includes 12 women who are all relatives. Their main business activities are agriculture and livestock farming.

The group leader, Aïssata, is 57 years old. She is married and the mother of 6 children who are all married adults. She is a farmer and benefits from over 30 years experience. She is standing on the right in the picture, raising her hand.

Aïssata grows rice which she sells at the grand markets in the local towns after husking.

She plans to use her loan to strengthen her rice farming business by renting more hectares of ground to cultivate (for 100 000 francs) so that she can increase production.

She will use her profits to improve her family's well-being, and buy sheep and cattle to increase her herd.
