A loan helped to buy sheep for resale.

Sabougnouman Group's story

Daouda rears sheep. In the group photo, he is the member holding a sheep on a leash. A 42-year-old Malian, he is married with seven children, two of whom are school educated. He is literate in his national language. His wife is a homemaker.

Daouda buys and sells his sheep at local weekly fairs. Quarterly sales can average 30,000 to 40,000 F. He has been doing this work for over five years, and he borrows through RMCR to help improve his venture. His revenue allows him to cover the costs of medical care, clothing for his children, and a steady supply of food for his family.

Daouda plans to obtain additional support from RMCR to build a large pen and acquire a lot of animals in an effort to lift his family out of poverty and improve their living conditions.
