Abibatu's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy ladies', men's, and children's wears to sell to her customers.

Abibatu's story

Greetings from Waterloo town, a community near the small and busy western rural area in Sierra Leone.

This is 35-year-old Abibatu, a married mother and business woman. Abibatu has two children.

Abibatu has a clothes business; she sells clothes for women, men, and children within her community. Seemingly distinct businesses are often mixed in Sierra Leone, the idea being that a customer will come to purchase one thing but will leave having purchased another. Abibatu has been in the retails business since 2004; she has been trader all her life. Abibatu works 12 hours per day. She say her major problems to her business are high cost of shop rent and transportation problems.

Abibatu wants to use this loan to buy ladies', men's, and children's wears to sell to her customers. Abibatu would like to build her own shop. She really wants to improve her life and is grateful to BRAC Sierra Leone and the Kiva community for their financial support.
