Isata's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy spanners, charging boards and tool boxes to sell to her customers.

Isata's story

Greetings from Kissy bypass, a community near the small and busy western area in Freetown.

This is 39-year-old Isata, a married mother and a businesswoman. Isata has three children.

Isata runs a tools business of spanners, charging boards and tool boxes within a busy market area. Seemingly distinct businesses are often mixed in Sierra Leone, the idea being that a customer will come to purchase one thing but will leave having purchased another. Isata has been in the tools business since 2008; she has been a trader all her life. Isata works 12 hours per day. She likes the fact that she continues to have new customers and has kept the old ones.

Isata wants to use this loan to buy spanners, charging boards and tool boxes to sell to her customers. Isata would like to see her business grow in the next five years. She really wants to improve her life and is grateful to BRAC Sierra Leone and the Kiva community for their financial support.
