Yun's story

Yun, 59 years old, is a widow who lives with her children in Trapeang Srangae Village, Khnar Chhmar Commune, Sameakki Mean Chey District, Kampong Chhnang Province. Her family's major source of income is farming. Yun learned this business from her parents and has worked as a farmer on her own land since 1980. Currently, she is able to earn an average income of about USD 6 per day.

Yun wants to purchase a set of solar home system panels to install on the top roof of her house. Due to a shortage of funds, she cannot afford this now. Thus, she is applying for a loan from Kiva, via HKL, to purchase a set of solar panels to install at home.

This is Yun's family's first loan cycle with Kiva. She hopes that this loan cycle will help her to reduce some monthly expenses by getting light to use at night and to live her life more comfortably. Yun plans to renovate her house and invest in her children's education. She hopes lenders won't reject her request on her first loan cycle. She would like to express her thanks to all lenders for their financial support.
