Nathan's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped me obtain workshop space, buy equipment, buy tools to develop aquaponic systems and seeds to cultivate microgreens.

Nathan's story

Born and raised in Los Angeles, hard work and entrepreneurship were instilled in me through my family history on both sides. On my mother's side, my family immigrated to the United States from Panama and instilled an immigrant work ethic in me. Similarly, my great great grandfather on my father's side homesteaded 240 acres by hand to build the family farm in Louisiana that my cousins still run today. I spent 8 years in the U.S. Army, including being in the Lower Ninth Ward and the Super Dome during Hurricane Katrina and doing a tour in Iraq. Upon return, I earned my BA in business at American Jewish University, and I am excited to build a business that helps heal the planet while employing veterans and underserved minorities. After graduating from American Jewish University and deciding to become an urban farmer, I completed the Veterans to Farmers Controlled Environmental Agricultural Course at Rebel Farm, a commercial hydroponic farm in Denver, Colorado. After that, I was selected to be the Farmer Veteran Coalition Intern at Ouroboros Aquaponic Farm in Half Moon Bay, California.
