Ca Nai Compang Laja Group's story

Margareta is a 36-year-old woman, married to Fabianus, a 46-year-old farmer. They have been blessed with 4 children named Julius (13), Yohanes (9), Misavril (7), and Frederikus (6). All of them are students at an elementary school.

Margaretha is a member of Ca Nai Compang group, which consists of 9 women. She is a daily laborer who works every day to fulfill their needs. She works when there is a request from someone who needs some help on their farm. Her income per day depends on the kind of work she gets. When she works to plant rice or cultivate the land, she will get an income of IDR 30,000, but if she works to cut the lawn, she only generates an income around IDR 20,000-25,000. It is, however, not enough for her to help her husband in financing the children’s education fees.

This is why she now wants to establish a kiosk business at home, but she unfortunately lacks the capital to do so. For that reason, she is joining with her friends who also have businesses to form a group and then apply for a loan amounting to IDR 3,000.000 per woman in TLM. She will use this money to buy sugar, soap, shampoo, cooking oil, instant noodles, etc.
