Ketness's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped increase her electronic float and cash to assist her customers with sending and receiving funds via mobile transaction.

Ketness's story

Vibrant 23-year-old, Ketness, dreams of making a big impact in her country. Ketness' parents were only able to cover costs for her to complete primary and secondary schooling. Since completion of school, she has helped her mother with trade at the village market.

Ketness believes life in Malawi can improve and knows she can be part of this change. She has been inspired by the work of James Nyondo, who was also born in Chitipa like Ketness. With this focus, Ketness has become a Zoona Mobile Money agent, helping her community send and receive funds without the need for a bank account. Ketness offers a service to help with financial inclusion, and she knows this is one of the many services which can improve standard of living. Ketness says that it is important to access money quickly as delaying affects the way a household will be run. Ketness is able to help improve her family living with this business; for every successful transaction, she earns a profit.

Ketness is reaching out to Kiva and she needs a loan to assist the growth of her business. This loan will help her with cash on hand daily to ensure her customers are never turned away due to lack of funds. Ketness thanks Kiva lenders for their support.
