Pop Roll Inn Group's story

Learn everything you can, anytime you can, from anyone you can, there will always come a time when you will be grateful you did. Primrose is a forty-two-year-old mother of one child. She was introduced into the business environment by her father and he also gave her a shop to use for her cosmetics business. Primrose is a widowed mother and she has been able to look after her own parents and child ever since her husband passed away. Primrose is a very energetic and hardworking woman and she’s currently the only breadwinner at home through her fairly performing businesses.

Primrose runs a canteen business, a cosmetics business and a lodge under the name Pop Roll Inn Restaurant. This is where the name of the group originated form. When she was introduced to business by her father in 2006, she was only selling cosmetics and clothes for women: later on she developed her restaurant to become the best restaurant in the locality. One challenge that she is facing is the economic hardships prevailing in the country; otherwise her businesses are performing quite well.

Primrose, as the Chairperson of the group, acknowledges that she has benefited a lot from being in a group in terms of decision making and idea sharing. ‘Thrive microfinance has the best trainings that I have ever received’ said Primrose in one of the interviews. She will use her loan to buy equipment for her canteen business.
