Suzen's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to increase her initial capital, increase her day-to-day float and procure a kiosk.

Suzen's story

Young Suzen is a focused 24-year-old part time student. Suzen has moved from Dedza to further her studies. She left behind her sister, as they are orphaned. Her oldest brother has a small business selling fruits and vegetables at the market, and with this he tries to pay for Suzen's studies.

Suzen has taken it upon herself to ensure she completes her studies by starting her own business. She is a mobile money agent. This means she helps her community with sending and receiving funds via a mobile transaction. With every transaction she earns a profit, which she can save to ensure she is able to pay her studies. This business will help alleviate some of the financial burden her brother has and she will be able to relocate her sister for them to reunite as a family.

Suzen struggles with having sufficient funds to run her business smoothly, so she is reaching out to Kiva for assistance. The loan will help her increase her day-to-day funds to help every customer's request, ensuring a profit. She will also be able to procure a kiosk to trade from. Suzen plans to grow her business so that one day she'll have sufficient profits to expand into a bakery as well. Suzen enjoys baking.
