Michael Kevin's story

I try to find the best in everyone, always. I try to speak French, Italian in the kitchen Spanish fluently. English, not so much. I was a class clown and always wanted to be a professional comedian. Yes, you read that right. I went to college. If I wasn’t severely bored by most, I might have been an architect or doctor. I drink at least six cups of diet Pepsi a day and live in constant fear that I won’t have access to it, so I bring it with me wherever I go. I don’t believe in expensive shampoo. My last meal would be a big bowl of granola, made by me. I’m a dual citizen of the US and Ireland. When I was between jobs in the 90s I was mistaken for a Ralph Lauren model in NYC and showed up for work for weeks before being discovered i was not the actual model. Then went and worked for Calvin. I can’t talk about my kids without getting weepy. I have incredible amounts of energy, but when I’m tired I can fall asleep anywhere, anytime, in seconds, even at the mall. My favorite mode of transportation is a boat. I was the Executive Pastry Chef when 21 years old at Little Dix Bay on Virgin Gorda, BVI after sailing around the island and then swimming to the interview (SHOWED UP SOAKED). I hate olives, but I’m trying to like them. I don’t have any tattoos. I always wear shorts to the beach and change into my bathing suit when I get there. It makes people crazy. I can’t spell. I can surf. I bought my first computer in 1986 and it started every time with this message "For International Business Machine, Internal Use Only." I had a crush on my babysitter in the late seventies and asked my mom to fire her for kissing her boyfriend. I love the opera, the ballet, classical music and country equally. I have no patience for The Real Housewives of anywhere. I love being invited to other people’s houses for dinner, but no one ever asks me. My children Jasper, one, and Jameson, two, are my greatest inspiration. And they didn’t make me write that. WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER the State Department showed up at my house to tell my mom i was involved in an "international incident", she kept my whereabouts safe. I started drinking espresso at the age of 16. I now have at least 3 a day. I believe good bourbon and ginger beer should be served with one ice cube. My parents are both chefs, but mom was a bare knuckle fighter in the roller derby. Who does that? I’ve only been to the Covered Bridges of Madison County once in my life (RIGHT AFTER THE MOVIE). I don’t think any meal can truly be enjoyed without good wine and good company. I believe that no one in our company works for me — they all work with me. And I couldn’t do any of what I do without each and every one of them.
