Fe Y Amor 6,7,8 Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase new clothing to sell.

Fe Y Amor 6,7,8 Group's story

Rosa lives in an isolated batey community (a company town where sugar workers live) in the eastern Dominican Republic, a region known for its vast sugarcane fields and large Haitian and Haitian-Dominican population.

Many Haitians come to the area to harvest and then plant the sugarcane, and some end up staying year-round. To supplement their meager incomes, many men and women, like Rosa and her group members who live in the batey, start small businesses to supplement their income throughout the year.

Rosa is the coordinator of her group and has a successful history of using small loans to start and grow her business. Rosa regularly travels to the Haiti/DR border to purchase new clothing in bulk at a discounted rate, bringing it back to her rural community to sell.

The nearby city of La Romana has a large used clothing market, but Rosa works hard to make sure that her clients have access to affordable new clothing. As a leader in her community, she regularly attends group meetings and dreams of owning her own home.

Thank you for your consideration of Rosa and her group, Fe y Amor 6,7,8 (Faith and Love 6,7,8)!
