Genesis Mariela's story

The Montecristi Canton in ecuador is known nationally and internationally for its hand made crafts, especially for its straw 'toquilla' hats handcrafted by its inhabitants for generations and generations.

Génesis is 24 years old, single and has no children. She lives at her parents' house.

To obtain her own resources and help with home expenses, Génesis works by selling clothing, shoes, and beauty products. She works three days a week, two to three hours a day. She sells her products on credit and charges every eight days. She has been working in this business for two years and is doing very well. What sells most are her perfumes and cosmetics due to their quality. She also works in the city as an accounting assistant.

This loan will be used to buy clothes of all kinds. She has many orders for Christmas and due to lack of money she has not been able to fulfill them. This is her 3rd cycle in the Credit Group and she likes it because the interest is low, and the group is united and very responsible. Her dream is to have a local bazaar where she can sell shoes and jewelry.
