Hpho Kone-2 (C) Village Group's story

Hpho Kone-2 (C) Village Group is located in Pakokku Township, in Myanmar. In this village group, there are seven loan clients who are going to use Kiva’s loan to purchase quality fertilizer, more crop seeds, and other necessary farming inputs. There are currently seven loan customers, named Kyin Mya, Kyi, San, Tin, Than, Win and Kyin M. Among them, Than unfortunately couldn't be included in the above picture.

The featured borrower, Kyin M (third from the left), is 50 years old. She was married, but her spouse passed away. Now she spends her life with her four children. Kyin M earns a living with her three eldest children, by cultivating crops such as green gram, sesame, and ground nuts. Her youngest daughter is in school. Like other members, Kyin M plans to use her portion of the loan to purchase quality, enriched crop seeds, compost, and other fertilizers.

Good quality farming inputs are important, to keep crops in a healthy condition with the inconsistent weather. Kyin M can be identified as an ambitious, strong mother, who is always active for the improvement of her family’s living conditions. Her ambitious goals are to be able to renovate her house and buy a car, in the next five years.
