Elmer's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped purchase manure for his coffee plantation, build a coffee processing area and channel water towards his plantation.

Elmer's story

Elmer lives in the town of Marindos, San Jose de Lourdes, Peru. He's 38 years old, lives with his wife and four children and has supported himself with his 2 hectare coffee plantation by selling organic, Fair Trade, high quality, good tasting coffee to the Centrocafe Co-op for the last 5 years.

Since he was a child his parents taught him farm work. His dream is to expand his coffee plantation and improve his family's standard of living.

A loan to Elmer would give him the opportunity to improve his business by increasing his production with manure, and quality would also improve through the construction of a processing area. He'll invest the money into channeling water from the pipes 1 located kilometer away to his plantation. With that water Elmer would be able to wash his coffee at the harvest site and avoid long-distance transportation. His coffee cleaning method would be more efficient and provide more opportunities to improve his standard of living.
