Awa's Group's story

The Banc Villageois of which this group is a part was established in March 2001. These two women who work in small-scale retailing are exemplary in that group for their dynamism.

Madame Mariama who is standing on the right in the photo, raising her hand, is the representative of the group. She is married, aged 56, and the mother of 10 children, among them eight daughters. Her business for more than 10 years has been selling local products. This loan will be used to buy 300 liters of palm oil, 300 brooms, and 300 liters of lemon juice. The profits will be used to help pay the school fees of her children.
