Florence's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy 10 cartons of canned tuna, 10 cartons of noodles, 5 bales of rice, and 5 cartons of coconut biscuits for her general store.

Florence's story

Florence is 28 years old and married with one child. She lives in a rural community outside Honiara, the capital of Solomon Islands.

She owns and operates a small general store selling basic food items such as canned food, noodles, biscuits, rice, cooking oil, sugar, and snacks. She has been doing this for three years.

With her first loan, Florence was able to start up her general store. With the ongoing guidance and training from SPBD staff on how to run a business, Florence is successfully making an income and her business is running very well.

Florence is now applying for a new to loan to buy more goods to increase her stock and to help her maintain the running of her business. She plans to use her profits to build a new home for family.

Florence joined SPBD this year to gain access to financial services.
