Juliah's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy farm inputs.

Juliah's story

Juliah is a smallholder farmer practicing dairy, poultry, and crop farming to make a living. She enjoys farming, for it is her means of securing the basic necessities of life.

In the Kenyenya area of Kenya, where Juliah is from, most people depend on agriculture for a living (over 90% of the population). Their biggest challenge is the huge deficit in access to agricultural inputs, meaning that farmers' yields and incomes are far below what they could be.

Juhudi Kilimo has partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholders around Kenya. Through these financial services, farmers in Kenya can now buy productive assets and important agricultural inputs for use on their farms.

Juliah is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs such as seeds, fertilizer, herbicides, and pesticides. Your loan will enable her to improve her production through use of quality farm inputs. This intervention will help her fill the increasing demand for food in the market and, in the process, generate more income to repay the loan debt and elevate the quality of life for her family.
