A loan helped to build a greenhouse.

Monda's story

This is Monda with her goats and their babies. Monda is a 35-year-old villager who wants to build a greenhouse with this loan. She is a married mother of three children, aged nine, four and one year old. Agriculture and livestock has been her practice since fifteen years ago and she's been doing it with her husband.

Their family owns about ten dynyms (about 10 square kilometres) of agricultural land where they plant mainly fodder for the animals in six dynyms and plant grains and vegetables for the family consumption elsewhere. Monda also has 400 heads of goats; she started with 100 of them about six years ago and then continued increasing the number. In a year, they sell approximately 300 baby goats for a total earning of $14,500 in addition to money they generate through selling homemade goat cheese for $2500/year. However, they also have some expenses in relation to their goat business because they buy for their animals 13,000 kg of corn and 1000 bales of fodder.
