Emelita's story

Emelita would like to acknowledge the valuable mission of Kiva and its people in alleviating poverty. Through your support, she was able to take care of her farm as shown on her photo. Being a conscientious mother, she recently started a small eatery by her house to augment her income.

This time she trusts that she could borrow funds in the amount of PHP 20,000 to buy meat, rice, vegetables, condiments and seasonings to cook, sell and serve affordable viands for the masses. Her place is situated along the road and a lot of jeepney, tricycle drivers and passengers take their quick meals at her eatery.

Emelita prays that God will crown her efforts with success and that they may experience abundance in life. She faithfully meets up with her co-fellowship* members to share stories of her work every week and draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God she studies.

*All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital and repay Micro Finance loans
