Sony Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy standard seeds for growing sunflowers and fertilizers, to cover fumigation costs and to purchase the needed farming supplies so as to increase the production.

Sony Group's story

Nelly is a 49-year-old farmer from Tanzania. She is married and has four children who are in college by now. She operates two separate businesses to support her family: She runs a 10-year-old boutique that sells textiles and handmade fabrics while at the same time she owns a big plot of land that grows sunflower and cotton. She's been into agribusiness for 20 years and is making some great profit.

This will be her 16th loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. Nelly's previous loan, all of which she has paid back successfully, allowed her to restock her charcoal store, and increase the bundles of stylish fabrics, textiles and sewing materials for selling. She is happy that her boutique is going on so well, and with the little profit earned, Nelly paid tuition fees for her children and covered household expenses.

She applied for this loan to finance her farming activities so as to boost the production. With the loan, she plans to buy standard seeds for growing sunflowers and fertilizers, to cover fumigation costs and to purchase the needed farming supplies.

She will share a portion of this loan with her fellow group member (Frida, who is also a sunflower grower), and they will be responsible for paying back the loan in full at maturity.
