A loan helped to build a new latrine.

Ratha's story

Ratha, 53 years old, is a married woman with one child. She lives with her family in Tuol Angkrong Village, Khnar Totueng Commune, Bakan District, Pursat Province. She has been involved in the rice farming business for years, providing her family with its main source of income. She is happy because she has full support from her husband in managing their businesses. They are earning the net income about USD $10.00 per day.

Ratha is now requesting a loan of $1,500 U.S. dollars from Kiva via HKL to purchase building materials, such as bricks, sand and cement, to build a latrine in her house. She mentioned that this loan will be a great help in improving her living conditions, increasing the value of her home and protecting her family members from spreading waste pollutants, and increasing their personal hygiene.

This the first loan cycle for her with Kiva. After this loan, she wants to get the new loan cycle to build a new house. She awaits your kindness and relies on your generosity.
