Fe Y Amor 2 & 4 Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase rice, meat, pork, and beans.

Fe Y Amor 2 & 4 Group's story

Enelcida lives in a small, isolated community in the Dominican Republic known as a 'batey'. A 'batey' is typically composed of Haitian workers and their families, who have immigrated to the DR, in order to work in the sugarcane fields. Despite the difficult living situation and general lack of access to the outside world, Enelcida and her other group members have started small businesses with Esperanza loans, in order to augment their household income and help provide for their families.

Enelcida is a seasoned and experienced borrower with Esperanza. She is a proven success, running a food stall where she sells hot food during the lunch hours. She works hard to provide whatever her client might desire, including the Dominican staples of rice, beans, chicken, meat and pork. In the evening times Enelcida also sells fried foods including chicken, plantains, potatoes, and more! She works hard to improve her quality of life and set a positive example in her community.

Thank you for your consideration of Enelcida and her group, Fe y Amor (Faith and Love)!
