Born and raised in Bologna, Italy, the city of food, I quickly learned the importance of coming together for meals with family and friends. To me the kitchen not only represents a place to eat but also to share traditions and good times. Some of my earliest and fondest memories are of making homemade bolognese pasta with my mother and grandmother. The smell of their fresh sauce warms my heart and will always be one of my favorite scents. The delicious meals and wonderful stories we shared at the dinner table every night are things that I cherish and will never forget. I knew from a young age that I wanted to keep these traditions alive. A year after graduating with a MBA from Bologna Business School at the age of 25, I opened my first restaurant, Toretllino, in the heart of Bologna. The concept was to keep the authentic recipes but in a more convenient way for the modern person on the go. Fortunately, my innovative idea of Gourmet pasta to go was a success. This inspired me to export these authentic recipes and fresh concept around the world. First, in Milan and then in Ibiza. In 2014, a very strong player of restaurants, YOU CAN GROUP acquired half of the Tortellino brand. Together we share the same mission to share the authentic bolognese cuisine around the world. Bolognese cuisine is consistently awarded by international journals as the best in the world. In 2015, we took the opportunity to open the first US store in San Francisco inside the food court “The Hall” on Market street. Upon my first visit to the Bay area, I fell in love with it. Unfortunately, The Hall is closing and we need to find a new space for the restaurant. We are seeking financing to help cover the costs of securing and opening the new location. In the meantime, we are doing caterings for parties and corporate events. I am living my dream and really want to embrace this new environment and share my culture while learning new things every day from the culture here.
