A loan helped us purchase products to sell, advertise for additional massage therapists, and freshen up our waiting space.
I grew up in Dayton, Ohio. My mother and father made life for me and my 4 brothers and 3 sisters a fairy tale. We never wanted for anything and even took family vacations every summer. My summers were filled with lots of fun activities that included riding bikes, going to the local recreation center, swimming and even Judo classes. My friends and I were a part of a club. To pay for activities we would collect pop bottles to turn in for money as well as have lemonade stands. At the end of the summer my mother would use some of the money we earned to throw us a party. My parents taught me unconditional love as well as financial responsibility. My weekly allowance was .25. I loved to save my money and remember saving it up to $75. In addition to allowance I babysat for 2 families, and sold Christmas cards every year to make more money. These were my first entrepreneurial experiences. I have always found joy in helping others. When I was a child I befriended a local neighbor. He was a war veteran and I would sit on his front porch while he shared his life stories with me. I liked keeping him company, and through these experiences he became family to me. I think this helped instill in me the desire to support others. Today, I support my father full-time. He was diagnosed in 2012 with Parkinson's Disease. I am so thankful for the life that he and my mother provided for me and I love that I can give back to him now. My dream is to grow my massage business so I can bring some of the same comfort I have given to my father and others in my life to more people.
