José De Jesús's story

Jose is 73 years old and a micro-business owner from the city of Bogota. He started his business in 2004 in order to get his finances in order. Because of his advanced age, his wasn't able to find work, so he decided to take the initiative and start his convenience store in this city.

He is a widower and he has three adult children. His life has been much more active since he decided to become a shopkeeper, providing the residents of the area with a convenience store close to their homes that offers them quality products for a good price. He keeps the shop open for many hours so that his customers have the opportunity to do their shopping without any inconveniences.

He is applying for his first Kiva loan through the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo in order to invest in an assortment of food products: vegetables, rice, oil, meat, and chicken, among other things, with the goal of allowing his customers to find everything they need in one place.

Jose wants to have enough stock to allow him to respond to the demand, and his longterm goal is to leave the store to his daughter and grandson as an inheritance. Help him with this loan.
